Key Purpose To give pre-authorisation information to members, brokers and all clients telephonically. To check the reasons for admissions are appropriate and confirm according to set protocols.
Benefits of working for Extended Hours Call Centre include:
Inbound Call Centre
Working hours would be Monday to Friday 17h00 to 22h00
Depending on shift worked up to 2 days off are granted
Shift Allowance is paid over and above CTC Salary & Performance Based Incentive
NOTE:
Working hours on Saturday's, Sunday's & Public holidays are 08h00 to 17h00.
Saturday work is compulsory for this position
Key Outputs All calls answered according to set standards
Transfer calls only when no further assistance can be rendered
Maintain accurate details of pre-authorization information
Confirm scans according to set protocols
Check validity of membership
Ensure that the reason for admission is appropriate
Requesting BHF/ ICD and CPT and motivation letters on pre-authorisation, when necessary
Offer transfers to Smart Health Choice Line for members who need more medical information about medical procedures, etc.
Follow- up urgent queries
Capture messages on the system
Give authorisation numbers for cases that are already loaded
Provide product information to all Discovery clients in line with standards and protocols of the call centre
Maintain confidentiality
Working hours 5pm - 10pm Monday to Friday
8am - 5pm Saturday & Sunday & Public Hoildays.
Saturdays are compulsory – Days Off will be granted.

Qualifications & Experience ESSENTIAL: Registered Nursing qualification or Enrolled staff-nurse or Paramedic (Registered with HPCSA)
Medical training
6 months Call Centre Preferable
Essential - MS Word; Outlook/ Outlook Express - intermediate level

Preference will be given to applicants from designated groups and suitable internal candidates in line with Discovery’s policies.
